| Q: What is your
favorite style? |
 |
| A: Although I love designing different
style landscapes, at the present time I am favoring contemporary/modern
design. |
 |
| Q: What design/work
of yours most reflects your style? |
 |
| A: The contemporary design I did for
the 2007 Beverly Hills Garden and Design Showcase, “Neo Verde”.
|
 |
| Q: What or who
has most influenced your work? |
 |
| A: Prior
to landscape design I was a fine arts painter. I studied with
Robert Mangold, a contemporary minimalist painter,
who influenced my fine arts work which in turn is also reflected
in my landscape design choices. Also, Georgia
O’Keefe, with her abstractions of natural forms and color
sensibility has also been a strong influence. As
a landscape designer I am inspired by the stone work of 19th
century Europe and Mexico and this gets incorporated
into my landscape designs. |
 |
| Q: What are examples
of art and design that you like and why? |
 |
| A: I am attracted to the relationship
of color in the paintings of Mark Rothko and Modigliani and
the essence of human form in
the sculpture of Henry Moore. |
